dough bowl care
Important Information:
Each dough bowl candle made out of mango wood, which is an eco-friendly and sustainable natural resource. Each dough bowl is hand-carved, which makes them all unique. This means that sizing and shapes may vary across each one. It is also important to note that all dough bowls may have knot holes, knife marks, saw blade marks, sap or minor cracks and blemishes. These are not defects and are a natural part of the bowl that has been made from raw mango wood.
Steps To Burning Your Dough Bowl:
It is important to note that dough bowl candles are handmade out of wood and will need extra care and attention in order to maintain safety and a good burning experience.
1. It is best to place the dough bowl on safe surface with a protective lining underneath (paper or disposable material) in the event of a leak or spill in order to protect the surface you place it on. As dough bowl candles are handmade they may leak or spill. Although we wood fill each dough bowl, we cannot guarantee a leak will not occur. In the event of a leak or spill, you can wood fill the dough bowl or apply a piece of tape to the area that it is leaking from.
2. When burning your dough bowl please ensure that all wicks are lit at the same time and that the entire surface of wax is melted evenly through out each end of the dough bowl. This ensures that your dough bowl will burn evenly on all ends, last longer and prevent tunnelling. It is also important that you only burn your dough bowl for 2-3 hours at a time, and that the wicks are trimmed 1/4 inch, or remove the black soot from the wick before each burn.
3. Once you are done burning your dough bowl, you can clean the remaining wax with warm water and use it as a decorative bowl, or send it back to us for a re-fill!
It is very important to note that you should not burn your dough bowl if there is less than 1.5cm of wax left inside. This can cause the risk of having the dough bowl itself being burned/catching fire by the flame on the wicks. Please do not leave this candle unattended.
We highly recommend having a candle care tool kit for this item that includes a wick trimmer and candle snuffer. The wicks on this candle should be trimmed after each usage and should be snuffed instead of blown out directly.
